Rapid Compost Machine
Currently, solid waste management is a global issue resulting in significant impact on environment. According to World Bank, 2.01 billion tons of solid waste is generated annually including 60% of organic waste; that can be recycled to produce various products including compost. Conventionally pits and open spaces are used for decomposition of this organic waste into compost. In this process the pits are filled with organic waste and periodic mixing is performed. However, this method has significant drawbacks including:
1. Emission of greenhouse gases:
Handling of organic waste in pits limits the process of aeration making the process anaerobic (absence of oxygen), resulting in production of methane; a greenhouse gas and compost with imbalanced carbon to nitrogen ratio.
2. Lengthy Process:
The process of composting is completed in 6 to 8 weeks which further limits the organic waste handling capacity on a given site.
3. High Cost:
For mass decomposition of organic waste to compost, significantly large area is required. Specialized facility (or pits) needs to be constructed on land. In addition, substantial human resource is required to not only shift the organic waste from waste collection sites to pits but also for further handling of this waste which makes the process inefficient in terms of land and human resource utilization.
Himmel Tech offers fully automated, innovative and low-cost Rapid Compost Machine to manage organic waste from vegetables, fruit peeling and twigs etc. This wase is handled in a controlled environment based on microbial technology and converted into useful organic fertilizer. Himmel Tech's Rapid Compost machine can control and maintain temperature & moisture to produce high quality compost in the shortest period of time.
